TIMISAROCKER’S ALBUM RELEASE SHOW

  • Bryant Lake Bowl 810 W Lake St Minneapolis United States (map)

Up Next, the new work by Twin Cities rock band Timisarocker, is an album about doing everything right as humanly possible, despite not breaking through as easily as anticipated. As a whole, the album is about reality in reality. Timisarocker confronts the heartbreaking truth of not being able to always follow your dreams and personal failure being the inevitable. Upon realization by seeing it reflected in the mirror, the image looking back at the obscure glow is a dejected blur of a person who is struggling to answer to the success they were certain to obtain as a child. There is no response; only rejection.

For Tim Dooley, the lead singer of Timisarocker, nothing else in the world matters more than the importance of being accepted and that is emblematic even further in their newest record Up Next, the album that explains that some people are just built differently. In a world of billions of shapes, sizes, identities, and privileges, how you are destined at birth is how you will succeed. For a hoodrat kid from Atlanta who spent his whole life being the most invested in the end goal, being the most avid fan (in or of) the art of performing, writing, and creating original rock music, being the one who wants it more than anyone, and even from an objective perspective, do absolutely everything right, to still not achieve his dreams he's had since he was a child simply because of how his life was destined to go. In reality, there will always be people better than him through the action of just existing.

The cruel reality of being a musician is that some people have to fight tooth and nail for an ounce of respect while others are granted it upon arrival. That has been the pill Timisarocker has had to swallow since 2010 and Up Next is the brave and honest message of that feeling of failure. The person on stage is the main character while the person behind the eyes is the supporting role. Through all of the depression lies a deeper meaning: being special isn't what you are given but what you can deliver and although Tim wasn't born to fit the role of a rock star, this album proves that there is still a place for him in the music industry. Even if it's not what was envisioned for himself, through predetermined fate, he is still an intertwined part of it. Using out of the box techniques, tropes and references, Up Next is the embodiment of everything Tim Dooley can contribute to the current state of popular music and the culmination of the last decade of blood, sweat, and tears. All to fit hand in hand with the natural talents of his band to present an album that has no comparison to any others of the times.

Named after lead singer, Tim Dooley, Timisarocker was formed as a 4-piece punk band from the Twin Cities in 2014. Over the years, their style and sound has constantly evolved without changing the core value of their performance ability. With musical influences ranging from every which way, Timisarocker prides itself in not sounding like anyone or anything else. As a band, Timisarocker creates music that crosses many different genres in hopes to get their songs stuck in your head. They are all about breaking down barriers and advocating for those who suffer from mental illnesses, hoping that their music brings them peace of mind and reassures them that they are not alone.

"The live iteration of FenixDion includes a trio of axe slingers—Keston Wright on acoustic, Atom Lee and Mitchell Johnson on electric—radiating layers of guitar tones outward while the bassist Gavin Taylor, percussionist Nii Mensah, and drummer Sam Bramble propel the group forward with tight, funky beats. Together they create expansive, transportive, and radiant rock music that is reminiscent of greats like Lenny Kravitz, Beck, and Musicology-era Prince, but also stands on its own as a unique, exciting new addition to the kaleidoscopic Minneapolis music community." -Andrea Swensson
