Presented by Danger Boat Productions
Described as What could become Minnesota's answer to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, The Theater of Public Policy (T2P2) combines Improv Comedy with thoughtful conversations to help make even the biggest ideas make sense. Using live on-stage conversations with newsmakers and big thinkers, T2P2 sheds new light on important topics through improv comedy theater. Each night: We interview a leading thinker on a big issue or thinky topic. Inspired by the conversation, our cast of Twin Cities most talented improvisers take the stage with longform improv comedy. Afterward, our expert guest answers questions from the audience then the show wraps up with more no-holds-barred unscripted comedy.
With Special Guests:
Catharine Richert, Senior Reporter, Minnesota Public Radio
Maggie Koerth, Senior Science Writer, FiveThirtyEightT
The role of disinformation and #FakeNews is front of mind as the 2020 election season heats up. How big of an impact does it have on people, and voters specifically? Why do mistruths get so much traction online? Science writer Maggie Koerth has written extensively about conspiracy theories and why it’s hard to change someone’s mind who believes one. Catharine Richert is part of a new project at Minnesota Public Radio dedicated to combating disinformation in 2020. We’ll ask them all about #FakeNews and fighting it in 2020, as well as whether the Pope has endorsed anyone in this year’s election yet.
