The Buffalo Show

  • Bryant Lake Bowl 810 W Lake St Minneapolis United States (map)

A rare evening of amazing thought, music, song, and poetry, holding open space for community dialogue around climate rescue.

Oyate Hotanin (“Voice of the People”) returns for another adventure. Oue special guest this month are Chris Mato Nunpa, elder, statesman, PhD and pianist, with talented DJ AO "Native Son" Austin Owen. Buffalo Weavers with Dakota elder poet and storyteller Strong Buffalo, and musical bike riding singer songwriter, Ben Weaver, will be in the house too! Josthna Harris will offer storytelling by Change Narrative featuring guest storyteller, Joe Vital. Enjoy the sights and sounds as we awaken the world to climate change and its impact and celebrate our ability to move to solutions (and have fun along the way!).

“Do creative, healing communities exist only in our dreams, or can they be realized? …an answer revealed itself to me at the Buffalo Show…I was reminded that no dream can be deferred if one’s motivation to dream is also fueled by a desire to heal, inspire, and connect with others through art…I closed my eyes. Inside of those metaphors and similes I realized I was no longer alone. As the dream was being realized, a creative, healing community presented itself.” - Basanti Miller, an Excerpt from: CREATIVE, HEALING COMMUNITIES: AN ANSWER REVEALED AT THE BUFFALO SHOW, Posted Southwest Connector Friday, July 21, 2023
