When they’re not busy making fun of the cheesiest movies on earth, the crew from RiffTrax.com spends their free time in the most altruistic and noble way possible: recording comedy podcasts. And though they never speak to each other outside of working hours, (preferring in fact to direct all communication through a series of intermediaries and underlings who are not allowed to make eye contact with the performers), their two podcasts will share a stage for the first time ever at Bryant Lake Bowl!
372 Pages We’ll Never Get Back was born out of Conor Lastowka and Michael J. Nelson’s desire to make fun of Ernest Cline’s inexplicably best-selling novel Ready Player One. Five years, 1.5 million downloads, and one hell of a rig later, it has taken deep dives into twenty different hilariously bad books, covering titles such as Modelland, Antigua: The Land of Fairies, Wizards and Heroes, Trucking Through Time, and Dwight David Thrash’s legendary The Forensic Certified Public Accountant and the Cremated 64-SQUARES Financial Statements. Come see how well beloved segments such as “Real or Fanfic” or “Dark Web Reenactments” translate to a live setting (we’re guessing “pretty well” & “not very.”) Appearing in lieu of the 372 Players will be the legendary Kevin Murphy of MST3K & RiffTrax fame!
Ringheads is an unserious guide to all things Lord of the Rings. In 2020, Bill Corbett and Sean Thomason fell prey to a bad case of “dragon-sickness” (term from the Hobbit movie trilogy, non-canonical) and they’ve been delving too greedily and too deep into Tolkien’s world ever since. They cover it all: the movies, the books, the dorm room posters, the bizarre Gollum rubber ducky type merchandise. They even read the freakin’ Silmarillion so you don’t have to. There's a lot to know, honestly an embarrassing amount to know, and that's where two class clowns who specialize in embarrassment come in. Enjoy that special blend of geekery and Balrog fart jokes live! Revel in Bill’s contempt for Edoras, home of the Riders of Rohan (Saruman had some good ideas) and Sean’s weird fixation on Gríma Wormtongue’s Hobbit cannibalism. The show will be a good time, the fate of the realm depends upon it!
