The Empty Space Collective (ESC) is a loose association of like-minded misfit artists responsible for some of the most obscure, yet highly praised theatrical works of the last twenty years. Independently produced ESC works include Gangster No. 1 (“An unflinching, intriguing trip to the dark side.”–Pioneer Press), Fnu Lnu (“For audiences seeking really new experiences in theater, this one gets my strongest possible recommendation!!”– Rick Burkhardt, Obie Award winning artist), The Grand National (“intimately personal, yet thematically universal”–Twin Cities Performance Art Examiner), Good Clown, Bad Clown (“absolute favorite BLB show of the past year.”–City Pages) and The Fever (“rends the heart to pieces like shrapnel, sends the body chills, and blasts open the mind... The Fever is a timely tour de force, eye-opening and deeply moving.”–TwinCities Daily Planet).

Working in conjunction with various local theaters, director Bryan Bevell (“a director who has done excellent, if too infrequent, work in the Twin Cities”–Star Tribune) has teamed with his ESC colleagues Nathan Christopher and Ryan Newton Harris on shows such as Lobby Hero at Jungle Theater (“The Jungle Theater has another winner, and the major Twin Cities performing-arts houses have their first unqualified hit of the new year.”–Star Tribune) The Sea-Wolf at Hardcover (“as smart and entertaining as anything I saw last year”–City Pages), Copenhagen at Workhouse Theater (“Top notch… thrillingly complex…I can imagine a spendier production, but not a better one.”–Star Tribune), and The Comedy of Errors at Maggie’s Farm (“a minor miracle”–StarTribune)

Tickets are $15
