Old Stories, New Patterns: Winter Solstice Ritual Show

  • Bryant Lake Bowl 810 W Lake St Minneapolis United States (map)

It has always been important to come together in the winter. It’s time to look out for the most vulnerable of our community. Feelings of anxiety, depression, and sadness can overwhelm us. Community ritual is an ancient way of leaning into the quiet and darkness together.

We will call on the Norwegian winter spirits in song and dance with Carol Sersland and Mary Klockeman. The runo poetry of Lynette Reini-Grandell helps warm us in the frigid cold. Vølve Bethany Jacobson recites ritual to change the war-winning loom to a war-ending loom. Kari Tauring’s poems and songs reinforce the new patterns in the weave we make together in this dark time.

Bring a bit of string or yarn to strengthen the new weave.

Add your voice to the chorus of light.

All are welcome.

FAQ
What is a ritual show?

It is thematic and has a goal in mind. It lets the audience simply enjoy the power of ritual theater or participate in song and symbolism. Kari's ritual shows span the gamut of spiritual beliefs by focussing on the human predicament we all share. This is the twenty-fourth winter solstice ritual show by Kari Tauring and Friends. We hope you join us!
